The cottage is totally private in a peaceful and relaxing setting, with 2 acres of beautiful garden and woods. This traditional stone farmhouse has been tastefully restored to retain its original charm yet provide modern comforts and amenities, with a 10m x 5m swimming pool. Despite the restful setting, you are only 3Km from the historic village of Bourdeilles with its 11th Century Chateau, and 15km from the picturesque town of Brantôme.
Relax in this beautiful setting in the rolling Dordogne countryside. Enjoy the top class food at local restaurants, canoe down the River Dronne, or visit the many interesting attractions and picturesque villages.
The house is approximately 250 years old, and has been restored and equipped to a high standard with all modern conveniences, whilst retaining a rustic country farmhouse feeling with it's old beams, exposed stone walls, wooden floors and kitchen with local quarry tiles.
New for 2014 is a modern en suite for the master bedroom and a completely refitted bathroom.
There is a sunny patio to the side of the house, with a retractable sun canopy to provide shade when needed. The garden slopes down to attractive woods, and in the centre is the 10m x 5m swimming pool, built and maintained to a high standard. The pool is alarmed for the safety of children.
The garden is totally private, and birds and wildlife abound in the natural woodland. A variety of trees provide plenty of shade.
An open sided barn to one side of the house is used to shelter the car and as a wood store, and there is ample garden furniture for barbeques or relaxing by the pool.
The surrounding countryside is green and attractive, with rolling hills. and many delightful walks from the door. It is also wonderful cycling country and cycles are available on request.
Ground floor:
Double front doors open into a large, triple aspect sitting room with a large fireplace and wood-burning stove. The walls have exposed stone and original alcoves, and the ceiling is beamed.
The kitchen/dining room is also triple aspect and has a quarry tiled floor. It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay, and there is a large farmhouse table. From the dining area there are double doors to the patio and garden.
Outside, there is ample garden furniture for barbeques and relaxing. There is a stone barbecue in the pool area and a portable barbecue is also available if you prefer dining closer to the kitchen.
Leading off the the sitting room is a cloakroom with washbasin, WC and a full size automatic washing machine. A rotary dryer can be found in a separate part of the garden hidden from the main areas.
First Floor:
A wooden staircase leads to the landing with three bedrooms and bathroom leading off. There are steps down to the bathroom.
The master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobes, a set of drawers and a TV, and there is an en suite bathroom with modern shower, toilet and wash basin.
Both the en suite and the main bathroom have modern sanitary fittings and both have roomy 'rain-head' showers.

Bedroom two has a double and one single bed and there are twin beds in the third bedroom.
Oscillating fans are provided in 2 of the bedrooms to cool you down on those hot summer nights.
A travel cot is available on request.
The newly refurbished bathroom has a washbasin, toilet and a shower-bath with extra space in the shower area.
