Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The location was excellent and watching the Corsica / Sardinia ferries and cruise ships coming and going was very interesting. You could hear the loud speaker announcements from the ships and the nearby naval base and event the bugle for parade but this was part of the charm.The area was very nice with good shops, a daily market as well as a Carrefour Hyper market very close by. There were plenty of restaurants along the quayside as well as boat trips and a little tourist train. I recommend a trip to the medieval village of Le Castellet for an interesting day out and also a trip to the top of Mont Faron which can be reached by cable car although we chose to drive. Local beaches are very clean and tidy with plenty of beachside restaurants to choose from and protected bays to swim in.

Negative: The one thing that we did not like and it was quite a big thing was that the area outside our windows is a gathering point for everyone from fishermen, youths on motorcycles, couples and families who talk loudly, laugh, shout and play car radios etc, often until 2 am or even later. Friday night was the worst when there appeared to be 2 family parties going on with screaming children running around. As there was no A/C in the apartment we wanted the windows open but this was impossible with the noise. For our 7 night stay, we probably got 2 good nights sleep. Something needs to be done about this constant problem either by Police involvement or fencing the area off with gates that are locked at night with only residents having the keys. I have already informed the company that despite it being mentioned twice in the advert, this property does NOT have a balcony. It does have lovely large sliding windows but no outside space.

Summary: Excellent venue & location but take some ear plugs !
