Summary: This comfortable, clean family home is full of character and decorated with panache and good taste. Lots of Farrow and Ball greys and terracottas, squishy sofas and plenty of space. Definitely not a soul-less white box with cheap white plastic chairs by the pool and mismatching crockery. The largest bedroom (with en suite shower corner) is a big, relaxing white space, full of interesting textures and design ideas, and a large comfortable bed, while the other good-sized bedrooms have character and flair. Large bathroom with washing machine, drier etc Small but perfectly functional kitchen, with everything you need for holiday cooking and more, including a dishwasher, Nespresso machine, plenty of pots and pans, knives that actually cut etc. For our stay in July 2016, the pool was at around 24/25 degrees in the morning but quickly warmed up to around 28 most afternoons. There is a pool alarm for those with young children; plenty of shady places to read a book (iron day bed, thick cushions galore) and 5 or 6 tastefully painted wooden sunloungers by the pool. Two outside eating areas - I suggest breakfast in the shady garden under a tree, and dinner up on the first floor roof terrace (close access to chilled rosé...) - the family cat, Luna, will probably come and sit near you for both. The owners are a helpful and charming couple, ready to pass on addresses for good local restaurants and places to visit. Olivier drops in to clean the pool & gave us some good tips for which vineyards to visit. As it's a family home and not a rental property, you feel like you've borrowed the home of some particularly stylish friends, and I appreciated the fact that the owners don't cut corners on crockery, bedlinen, towels etc. like certain properties. Ideal for both families, or groups of friends without children (3 double beds plus 1 single) - we enjoyed our stay so much we're thinking of going back next year!
