Positive: We liked this house with its old dated vibe and furniture. Colmar is such a historic area and we felt like the inside of the house seemed like it was how it should be when you go in to some of the older homes that you visit and see in Colmar. For us it was a plus. They had an old record player that worked and we listened to Christmas music. They had a Christmas tree up that was really nice for the Christmas holiday. We like to walk ,so for us the location was great. We walked a mile to get to the historic area. and the Christmas markets. Check in and check out was really good. The owner has an uncle that lives on the property as a contact person. he was extremely nice. We really liked him very much. I think the rental is meant to be contactless for check in and check out but he is a resource if you really need help. There was free parking. Everything we needed to cook on a daily basis was in the kitchen. We bought groceries and easily prepared our meals there. It was fun. We felt like we were living like the locals. They did have bikes available. They’re very old, but we didn’t care. We loved it. We didn’t have to rent them. There was also a ping-pong table in the garage that the gentleman in the house let us use. You pull it out and put it away yourself.

Negative: A drawback to the house is that the floors are super squeaky. Upstairs it’s very loud. When you look at the house one thing you don’t realize is that there are three bedrooms, but you have to walk through the first bedroom to get to the second bedroom and the third bedroom, so the combination of having to walk through the bedrooms with very squeaky floors in the middle of the night is not the best scenario. The bathroom is also downstairs. The house is old and quirky , but we liked it. We had a problem with the hot water heater, but the owner, had it repaired the day we told him about it and that was great. I would almost want to go back to this house again because everything is familiar to us and the walk to town is familiar to us from this location. The bikes were great, but I really didn’t like the squeaky floors And having to walk through one through room to get to the other bedroom, so I’m not sure if I would go back to this property or not, but I would describe it as a charming visit. One suggestion I have for the owner is it has a lot of their things in it because I think they still use the house but in the wardrobes in the bedrooms they’re so full of their stuff there is nowhere to hang your clothes or put your clothes and some of the things they are keeping it look like they could get rid of or put somewhere else so that each bedroom could have some area where they could hang or store some clothes. I like to keep things very neat when I’m staying somewhere and I didn’t like not having anywhere to put things for example in one bedroom they had a shelves full of books. I would’ve like the shelves to be empty so I could put my belongings there. I rearranged things in the closets, trying to make room for my things.
